Directions
- Mix sugar, shortening, egg and molasses well.
- Sift dry ingredients and mix into the dough.
- Chill. Make into balls and roll in sugar.
- Place 2 inches apart on greased cooking sheet.
- Bake in preheated 375 degree oven for 8 to10 minutes.

1 cup sugar3/4 cup shortening (ex. Crisco)1 egg1/4 cup molassesadditional granulated sugar for rolling cookies2 cups flour2 teaspoons soda1/2 teaspoon cloves1/2 teaspoon ginger1 teaspoon cinnamon1/2 teaspoon salt
